As I watched the Super Bowl last night between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens I began thinking about how for the past 4 years I had watched the game in 4 different cities. Our lives have been in a seemingly constant state of flux the past few years and all I could do last night was thank God for allowing us to be settled in Tennessee serving at a GREAT church with GREAT people!
Not that you are all that interested, but here is a recap of where I have watched the Super Bowl starting back in 2010:
Not that you are all that interested, but here is a recap of where I have watched the Super Bowl starting back in 2010:
New Orleans Saints 31 - Indianapolis Colts 17
My family and I watched the game with friends (many of whom were Colts fans) in Austin, TX
Green Bay Packers 31 - Pittsburgh Steelers 25
My family and I watched the 1st half at the home of Scott & Sonya LaPlante and then traveled at halftime (not regrettably missing the Black Eyed Peas) to watch the 2nd half at the home of Carl & Tina Koski. It was pretty special to live in "Titletown" and see the hometown Packers bring the Lombardi Trophy back to Green Bay, WI.
New York Giants 21 - New England Patriots 17
While my family once again watched the big game at the LaPlante's, I was listening to the first 3 quarters from 30,000 feet flying back from a job interview in the Los Angeles area. I landed in Chicago just in time to catch the 4th quarter before flying back to Green Bay.
Baltimore Ravens 34 - San Francisco 49ers 31
After a LONG Sunday of dealing with weather and an abbreviated church schedule it was kind of nice to simply go home and relax in a warm, quiet house and watch the game from our new home in Greeneville, TN. And what a great game it was (excluding the power outage)!
In closing, here is my pick for funniest commercial from last night. As a Kansas City Chiefs fan, I could not be more excited about the prospects of drafting Leon Sandcastle with the #1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. Here's hoping he can lead the Chiefs to Super Bowl 48 in New York!
